Deadly Combination Of Dilip Kumar With Rafi, Shakeel And Naushad Ali.

The article speaks about the gem of gems created by the four legends Dilip Kumar, Naushad Ali, Mohammad Rafi and Shakeel Badayani between 1940s to 1960s.

When the 4 genius creators Dilip Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, Shakeel Badayani and Naushad Ali met together they produced gems. Music had a great role to play in the hit films of Dilip Kumar.

In the film Uran Khatola, Rafi’s song “wo door ke musafir hum ko bhi saath lele re” composed by Naushad Ali and written by Shakeel created magic. Rafi’s song “o bachpan ke din bhula na dena” for Dilip Kumar was also hit in the early 1950s. Naushad Ali composed music in more than 15 films of Dilip Kumar and in the early career films like Mela, Babul, Andaz,

Deedar created the launching pad for Yusuf Khan becoming tragedy king Dilip kumar.

In 1960, all the songs of Rafi in Dilip Kumar’s Kohinoor were masterpieces including “madhuban me radhika nachere”, “do sitaron ka zameen par hai milan aaj ki raat”. Naushad Ali was at his best. Rafi showed the Bhojpuri andaz in the song “nain lad jai he” in Dilip Kumar’s film Gunga Jumna. Again Naushad Ali and Shakeel created magic.

Mughal-i-Azam was a female oriented film. So Naushad’s music created songs picturized on Madhubala and songs like “pyar kiya to darna kya” became super hit . Rafi sang his bit in “zindabad zindabad aye-muhobbat zindabad”.

In 1964, Rafi Naushad Ali combination produced gems in Dilip Kumar’s film Leader. All the songs of Rafi titled “teri husn ki kya taarif karun”, “apni azaadi ko hum hargese mita sakte nahin”, “aajkal shaukhen didar hai”, “humise muhobbat humise ladai”, “mujhe duniya walon sharabi na samjhon” all became smash hits in 1964.

In Dilip Kumar’s Dil

Diya Dard Liya, all the songs composed by Naushad Ali and sung by Rafi were masterpieces. The list is too long. It includes “dilruba maine tujhe pyar me kya kya na kiya”, “koi sagar dil ko behlata nahi”, “sawan aye yah na aye”, “guzreh hai aaj” to name a few.

In Dilip Kumar’s Ram Aur Shyam, the 4 of the giants Shakeel, Dilip, Rafi and Naushad came saw and conquered. All the songs were majestic including “aaj ki raat mere dil ki salaami lele”, “ayi hai baharen mite zulmo sitaam”, “mai hoon saki tu hai sharaabi shaarabi”, to name a few.

Again Dilip Rafi Naushad and Shakeel met together in Aadmi and the songs were masterpieces again. Some of the big hits included “aaj purani rahon se koi mujhe awaaz na den”, “kya aadmika koi bharosa”, to name few. All these films require restoration because as long as classical and ghazal oriented music will survive in the world the contribution of these legends will never be forgotten.
